When her mother dies, a disillusioned artist must find inspiration to change her life’s story before it gets misrepresented by a tenacious and intrusive reporter.

SYNOPSIS:

MAGDA, a reclusive artist grappling with creative blocks, lives in isolation in her apartment. Her mother and manager, MASHA, visits regularly, and Magda occasionally meets BERNARD, a famous violinist with whom she has a complicated relationship. When offered a feature by a lifestyle magazine, Magda is hesitant due to her 20-year creative drought.

After Masha’s sudden death, leaving Magda with debts and a cabin in a remote village, SALLY from the magazine insists on writing the article, urging Magda to confront her past and seek inspiration in Winter Lake. There, she discovers Masha’s hidden life and befriends MIKE, an ex-rock star, and JULES, a punk drummer.

Driven by DANTE's encouragement, a member of Jules' band, Magda tries the extreme routines of famous artists to overcome her creative block.
