SYNOPSIS:

PAPA BENDITO, a Santeria priest, who casts malevolent spells on the people in an Hispanic community in Brooklyn, New York. The people become ill and turn to him for healing. For a high price he ‘heals’ by removing the illnesses he caused to begin with. Alicia’s clinic has all but closed. Because he “cures” them they have stopped seeing doctors. But, his “cures” do not come cheap. Families begin to crowd together in small apartments to afford his outrageous fees. One such victim is a child whose mother has been brought up on abuse charges for failing to continue her daughter’s medical care. Three Witches unite with others in their magical community to bring him down legally and magically. Doctor ALICIA VALENCIA, a Wiccan, runs a Brooklyn community health center whose patients are primarily Hispanic. She has noticed a exponential reduction in the number of patients coming to her clinic over a period of months. More dead on arrival emergency runs to the local hospital and deaths in the hospital related to not getting medical care or routine check ups has risen sharply. She turns to her colleague, RAVEN, who owns a Pagan shop to share her suspicion that a Santeria Priest has opened for business and is preying on the beliefs of the people in the neighborhood . She and Raven begin their inquiries concerning this priest they feel is causing the illnesses befalling so many in the community. In this pilot a child is hospitalized because of a serious seizure. They discover this priest convinced her mother that demons were responsible and that he would heal her. Making matters more heartbreaking is that the child is a patient of Alicia abuse charges have been placed against her mother. Enlisting the help of Alicia, GRANDMOTHER COMET ( a Shaman), MADELEINE (A Romany Lawyer) and her coven Raven will not only help the mother and her daughter but bring Papa Bendito down legally and bring about spiritual justice.
