SYNOPSIS:

US Treasury accountant Annie joins a British Government department to help her get over a personal tragedy. There she uncovers a plot by her boss to frame the US president with being behind illegal deforestation in the Amazon to cultivate palm oil plantations and the genocide of Amazonians trying to stop the destruction. She takes time out to sit on her boat and consider what she’d learned when she witnesses the murder of one her staff. Next she’s kidnapped by her boss to find out what she knows. She’s rescued by a British cop, Framed for two murders she and Thrush go on the run. On the way they find themselves helping a stowaway kid from Brazil with his dog. He brings his streetwise savvy to the team. Annie and Thrush grow close and eventually fall in love. She turns to an old friend of her father at a US airbase in England. He betrays them. They’re captured by CIA agents and tortured. The sadists injure the dog. They escape and turn the torture on to one of the torturers. He tells them the conspiracy came about to stop the US and France from creating closer ties with each other to the detriment of the British Government. French agents don’t want closer cooperation as they value their independence. Rogue CIA agents want to get rid of the president because he’s cutting back on their activities. The boy stays with Thrush’s sister to get the dog medical attention. Armed with the information the Head of French Intelligence is to ‘expose’ the president’s crimes in Paris the fugitives head for the city; they’re captured on the way. Shot in the chest Thrush falls in the sewers. Annie escapes with the help of a homeless man and a prostitute. She manages to get into the press conference but her boss corners her. She kills him in a fight. She bursts on to the stage and manages to tell the press what was really happening. She stays in Paris to help the police finish off their inquiries and gets a phone call. Thrush is alive but badly injured in hospital. She rushes to his bedside.
