A seriously disturbed writer wants to restart his life when he goes to a lake cottage, but as he uncovers more and more of his past, he realizes that what he finds may ruin him professionally and personally.

Sally Foster sends Rod, her husband, to his old cottage on a lake to complete a script in four weeks. He suffers from a mental illness, and Sally controls his medical treatment. She has already forced Rod to have an ECT treatment regiment and now she tells him she will commit him if he doesn't provide what she wants, a finished female-driven screenplay. At first, Rod believes he is alone, but then Erin, an actress, and her 12-year-old daughter pay him a visit. She says she's being neighborly, but Sally has actually asked her to keep an eye on Rod. Erin starred in Rod's second and third screenplays. Both were bombs, but Rod doesn't really remember them or Erin for that matter. Another actress Abby appears unexpectedly from seemingly nowhere .. Rod does remember that she was in his first movie, the one movie that actually made money. As soon as Rod meets her he decides he will talk his wife into making Abby the lead in the film made from the script he'll write. However, the more he tries to write the more of his past he remembers He definitely does not remember Abby died.
