Sir Neville Haynsworth is in charge of a self funded covert international government agency set up at a clandestine estate in France to investigate and eliminate crime related activities that risk international security. He deceives two wealthy men into his servitude through an elaborate ruse. Lord Trent Ellis is born into old money and lives a hedonistic lifestyle, while Aiden Knight is a self-made man and risk taking adrenaline junkie.

A DEA raid on a Colombian residence results in the accidental death of a drug czar's wife and child. Only critically wounded, the drug czar manages to escape to Eastern Europe where he undergoes extensive plastic surgery and hides beneath the cloak of an Art dealer. With the money he has amassed, he eliminates the competition and establishes himself as the top East European drug and arms dealer. He finances the creation of a viral agent called "Absinthe" to increase his fortunes and act as retribution for his family's demise at the hands of the DEA. He plans to auction the bio-agent to organizations that desire to inflict pain on the US.

Lord Trent Ellis and Aiden Knight have to use their resources and guile to put a stop to the nefarious plot and uncover the reason behind their servitude so as to be free. The plot unravels through a series of exciting chases around the globe and with the assistance of Aiden's security team made up of Russian Spetsnaz and other special forces.

Aiden and Trent track the person behind the Absinthe that is desired by the cornucopia of criminals and successfully terminate its proliferation. Unbeknownst to Aiden and Trent, they eliminated the plan but not the czar.
