SYNOPSIS:
The story is about MARK JACOBS, an arrogant African-American executive for Global Data Research who, after failing to receive a lucrative promotion for not being able to work well with fellow employees, is made CEO of the company's Singapore office. Mark reluctantly takes the position with intentions of getting back to the states as soon as he can. Upon his arrival, Mark is a fish out of water struggling to adapt to his surroundings - sampling strange food, contending with unbearable heat, and struggling with incredibly small apartments. Eventually, Mark settles in and sets about trying to orchestrate the restructuring of the Singapore office, and in due process his sales agent, MICHAEL, a thorn in Mark's side in order to prove himself to his superiors and find his way back to Boston. Mark enlists the help of a beautiful Asian attorney, REASON TAN, to this end - but doesn't tell her what he's up to. Mark slowly begins to fall in love with Reason, but when she discovers his ulterior motives, she breaks things off with him. Now, with the love of his life hanging in the balance, Mark will have to make amends with Reason, or stand to lose all that matters to him. Thankfully, with the help of a kindly Buddhist monk, Mark sees the error of his ways, wins back Reason, and stays in Singapore.
