An operative posing as a reporter must assassinate a rogue U.S. Army Colonel taking on ISIL with his band of devoted followers known as Hell’s Apprentice.
SYNOPSIS:
The story is about a determined journalist named KRISTIN who travels for war torn Iraq to track down and interview a rogue U.S. Army Colonel named ROBERT MURPHY who is orchestrating unsanctioned attacks on ISIL. To accomplish her mission, Kristin enlists an Arab guide ALMALIKI who knows the lay of the land and who helps her manoeuvre through dangerous checkpoints. But soon, Kristin finds herself in an ISIL controlled region between Iraq and Turkey where, after nearly being killed by rebels, she’s rescued and taken in by Murphy and his men who have built a near Utopian society in the mountains. Then, Kristin’s interview is cut short when an attack on Murphy’s village by rebel forces points to potential U.S. involvement. To make matters even more complicated, Kristin reveals that her journalist front is a ruse and that she’s actually been sent by shady government operatives to assassinate Murphy. Something Murphy felt as others were sent for him before her. Now, with both the US and the rebels infiltrating them at every turn, Kristin will have to decide whether her allegiance lies with the principled Murphy…or greedy Washington D.C. power-brokers. Thankfully, Kristin allows Murphy enough time to pull up camp and move his followers to safer ground while she calls in an airstrike for unknowing US forces to obliterate Murphy’s empty village. Having saved Murphy and his men, Kristin’s now able to return to D.C. as though she completed the mission she was assigned…while knowing that Murphy’s still out there fighting a just battle.
