After a near-fatal accident one December morning, a cold-hearted business executive is sent back to her high-school past where she must help a tormented homeless classmate avoid his dark future or face eternal damnation.
SYNOPSIS:
Conceited, eighteen year old MORGAN STERN lives with her mom and dad who struggles to make ends meet and although she views it as an inconvenience, all she cares about is her dancing. Specifically, winning the National Dance Championships.
All that changes, however, during a seminar given at her school by the wealthy MR. WILLIAM GOLDMAN III, who urges those the students that, unless they place wealth accumulation above all else, they will live in poverty. He concludes his lecture by offering an internship at his company which Morgan accepts.
That decision pays off fifteen years later when we see Morgan – now an adult – works her way up to become Director of Sales at William Goldman’s company and like her mentor, she has become obsessed with money and lives a very affluent life.
All that changes, however, when Morgan becomes involved in an accident and meets an ANGEL who gives her a glimpse of the hellish fate that awaits her, but at the last minute, offers her a chance at redemption if she goes back to Earth and “save a soul”.
Morgan agrees and the Angel sends her back... fifteen years into her past, before she became wealthy and learns that this soul she is supposed to save is GEORGE HORNSBY (17), the smart but tormented classmate whom Morgan remembers mistreating when she was a teenager. She also learns that if she doesn’t help him now, he will grow up to be a homeless adult later on.
But, her journey to saving George will not be easy when she learns that his dark fate is tied to a homeless shelter he lives in that is in danger in closing in less than a month due to insufficient funds and in order to save George, she must find a way to raise enough money before the shelter closes.
Stripped of all her wealth and connections, Morgan resorts to the only thing she has in this timeline: her dance skills and knowledge. In what seems like a long shot, she offers to train the RESIDENTS and STAFF – including George – in the performing arts and help them put on a fundraiser showcase to raise the money they need to save the shelter.
Morgan and the people at the shelter overcome many obstacles up to the day of the showcase (and even afterwards). Along the way, she learns to bond with those same people whom she has spurned at one time as an adult. In the end, the shelter is saved, as well as George and Morgan gets to relive an “altered” adult life where this time, it is the adult George (no longer homeless) who saves Morgan from dying (again). We also discover that Morgan is no longer wealthy – but much happier – and now works for the same homeless shelter she once saved along with George.
