Riddled with immense guilt, a young man is forced to suppress his sexuality with the dread that it could have urged his mother’s demise and resulted in abandoning the love of his life, in the city of the seven hills, Amman, where being gay is stigmatized and not socially tolerated.
SYNOPSIS:
Fadi lives a double life, one that pleases his mother and society and the other where he is true to himself. His mom, Fardus, has the habit of piling photos in a single photo frame, and keeps a photo of herself and little Fadi on top of her favorite frame.
One night, his whole life changes when the police catch him with his love interest, Khaled. This results in exposing his identity to his family. His mother gives him a choice to either “fix” himself or leave the house. He chooses the latter.
A year later, Fardus dies from health complications and Fadi watches her get buried from a distance. Back home for the night, he notices that the photo of him and his mother is missing. Later that night, he recalls that when his father passed away, his mother put up a large photo frame of her husband and piled a bunch of smaller ones behind it. He goes through the photos and finds his photo there.
Four years later, everyone is celebrating his son’s baptism while the painful memory of his past relationship is buried in his heart alongside his true identity.
