SYNOPSIS:

Six years ago, Greg Swinton lost his wife to cancer. Ever since then, the only woman in his life is his 7 year old daughter, Bridgette….well, plus the team of women he works with at an elementary school. Matter of fact, he is pretty much surrounded by women, and one of them, Brooke, is his best friend. While getting ready for work one morning, Brooke hears about a new charity campaign spearheaded by Jennifer Aniston – pay $1000 for a chance to win a date with her. The girls pool together and enter Greg, without him actually knowing about it. And yes, of course he wins, setting off a series of events that lead to way more than just “a date”. The problem you ask? Well, Brooke didn’t actually want Greg to start falling for the first girl he started dating. She just wanted him to want to start dating, to open his eyes a little. I mean, how is Brooke supposed to compete with Jennifer Aniston? Dating Jennifer is a completed romantic comedy that takes the genre of realistic fiction to a whole new level. I have always been fascinated with the ideas of mixing reality with fiction, and have done so in several of my scripts. I have had a couple local producers says this script is definitely a winner, but because I have included Jennifer Aniston as herself, I have really made it difficult on myself and they just don’t have the connections to move forward with it. Well, what can I say, I’m stubborn. I will acknowledge that the role for Jennifer Aniston could be adapted to another actress rather easily, but I went with my first choice, America’s Sweetheart.
