SYNOPSIS:

We open with the lawyer reading the terms of William Wilkins will on the sales floor of Spin Me Baby record store. As the terms are read Johnny is anticipating a large sum of money and Annie (Johnny’s Ex Girlfriend) is not expecting anything but is there because she was asked to be there by the lawyer. The first read is Williams pets going to family members, next Johnny has his name read and he is awarded the one thing that he really didn’t want a 30 years behind the times record store that might as well be knocked down and made into a parking lot. And Annie receives 20 percent of the record store and is absolutely beside herself excited about it giving a second blow to Johnny’s enormous ego. A moment passed, Johnny finally snapped out of his emotion daze and realized 20 percent of the store went to Annie someone he cheated on while they were dated and being stuck with someone that you despise, fear, and love at the same time is pure hell for both people. A big argument ensues and Johnny goes to his grandfather’s office and Annie leaves the store to compose herself. Annie arrives at the coffee house, gets a cup of coffee. She runs into an old friend from college Josh, they reconnect, swap numbers, and have a solid connection. Before, returning to the store Annie grabs an LA Weekly newspaper for the events page for promoting the store. At the store, despite Johnny’s unpleasant and caddy attitude Annie expresses her idea for the store. Reluctantly, Johnny agrees that she can have a corner of the store for her ideas he feels are reserved for dust bunnies and piles of paper from the 50’s, little as he knows it will become one of the best selling sections. Johnny has a list of supplies and gives it to his friend and co-workers respectively Ben and Honey, they go to the mall to complete the list of items but there attention keeps going to everything but. Honey finds a store with spiritual crystal, incense, and energy rocks and chats with everyone about what they are and what they mean. Ben finds a guitar shop and plays every guitar in the place. Johnny keeps looking at his watch every 5 minutes wondering what is taking so long to get the supplies. Meanwhile at the store you can cut the tension with a knife. Johnny and Annie don’t talk to each other. And every time Annie moves something or cleans it up Johnny moves it or returns to its former state. Annie after a little while notices what’s happening and she puts the items in Johnny’s office. The next morning Johnny is ready to reopen the store. Ben and Honey set out to go in the back room and find some vintage posters to hang on the wall for Annie’s area. A moment passes and Ben and Honey find some posters of senior citizens in bathing suits and for a joke hang them up. A few minutes before Johnny opens the store for the first time he looks around double and triple checks everything and notices the posters on the wall which everyone has a laugh over and the tension is put on the back shelf at least for the rest of the day, all for no line and a homeless person trying to clean the windows with a newspaper. Johnny tells the guy to stop, waits a second and says “You missed a spot”
