A woman is caught in the middle of a rift between her emotionally unstable twin sister and authoritative husband. 

SYNOPSIS:

NORA BEAL dreams of owning a knitting shop with her twin sister, BOBBIE STEVENSON, who was injured protecting Nora from their abusive father and lost all hope of running in the Olympics. Before graduation, Nora gets pregnant, but her boyfriend refuses to marry her. Nora tries to keep the dream alive, marrying STANLEY BEAL who is starved for attention and will do anything to win her love. Jealous Bobbie always reminds Nora that she doesn’t really love him. Nora stays with him for and triggers an all out family feud.

Nora works part time to save money for a knitting shop because Stanley blames her mooching sisters, Bobbie and CHELLE, their younger unemployed sister, for a lack of funds. Bobbie insists Stanley purposely spends too much money so they can’t afford a knitting shop. When Nora tries to financially cut off her sisters, Bobbie, no stranger to stealing, robs a church and a parishioner dies. Convinced it’s Nora’s sisters, Stanley tips off the police, much to Nora’s disapproval. Due to a lack of evidence, Bobbie and Chelle are released.

Stanley will gladly use his gun to shoot Bobbie if it comes to that, but Bobbie’s plans to kill Stanley are unsuccessful. Nora decides the only way to protect everyone is to divorce Stanley, something she has held off doing for their daughter’s sake. Stanley ‘s on the verge of suicide when Nora calls from work to check on his safety and reminds him that she will always have feelings for him and be tied to him through their daughter. Before Nora arrives home, Bobbie breaks in and stabs Stanley after she surprises him and he accidentally shoots himself. Bobbie escapes, leaving Chelle to take the rap. Chelle gets immunity and throws Bobbie and Nora under the bus. Nora is acquitted and Bobbie, eventually having an attack of conscience, pleads guilty and receives life in prison, without parole.
