A fifteen-year-old Bronx kid runs three states ahead of the older brother of the dealer he helped get killed — and the only way either boy survives is together.
SYNOPSIS:
LUKE, fifteen, lives with his mother and his five-year-old sister in the Patterson Houses, South Bronx. He has spent his life refusing to choose — between his mother’s exhausted patience and the gang on the corner, between the boy he was at twelve and the boy the block is making him become. When DARNELL, an older friend who has graduated to running corners for a Philadelphia drug operation, offers him initiation into the local gang, Luke goes. The price is desecrating a memorial wall built for MALCOLM, a young dealer killed by police two weeks earlier in what the neighborhood whispers was a setup.
