A pediatric doctor who refuses to accept impossible odds survives two days of human predators and an ancient creature in the Arizona desert — then walks back into her hospital and gets to work.
SYNOPSIS:
DR. CHERRY HAYES, early 30s, is the kind of pediatric doctor who stays at a child's bedside for six weeks because she has not found the answer yet. When nine-year-old MARCUS nearly dies from a condition three specialists have called untreatable, Cherry works through the night until she finds the solution at 2 AM — a single drug pathway no one else had traced. Marcus wakes up. His father stands in front of Cherry and cannot speak. He finally manages: you didn't give up on him. Cherry says: no. That is the whole conversation.
