Determined to make a name for herself, aggressive TV reporter Barbara, is thwarted when she confronts a wealthy sexual predator. His ambition, and position challenge her efforts to disclose the truth as he preys on vulnerable women.
SYNOPSIS:
Barbara has set her sights on breaking out of her position as a spot news TV reporter . Her background as a private detective lets her to see connections others miss. The latest pro-life protests at the family clinic may provide the in-depth story she is seeking.
Nick has embarrassed his family many times over with his sexual exploits. The family fortune is tied to the church and both want to avoid any notoriety. Nick in reality is Fr. Dominic, but only assumes his vocation when it suits him. Even though he is a priest, as Nick, he sees sex as a game and moves on when he gets bored. He uses a motel outside the city for his conquests. The motel is next to the restaurant where Angel works part-time.
Angel is new to the city and to her office job. For extra money, she works out of town as a waitress. Angel lives with her brother, Frankie, who was recently released from prison. He pals around with ex-con Eduardo who has plans to make a big haul in a robbery and presses Frankie to assist.
THE STORY
Nick visits the restaurant late one night. He charms Angel and pursues her as his next sexual interest. Over the next several weeks Nick is seducing other women while keeping involved with Angel. She sees some evidence, but still can't resist him.
Fr. Dominic (Nick) is pressed by his superior to attend the pro-life demonstrations as a calming influence. He gets interviewed on TV at the clinic by Barbara. Angel sees the broadcast and goes to confront him. Fr. Dominic/Nick tries to charm Angel. She lets him know she is pregnant by him. He insists she have an abortion. The conversation is overheard by Barbara. Betting that a philandering priest would be strong element in her story, Barbara uses a police contact to get information about Fr. Dominic, Angel and Frankie. Barbara confronts Angel and pressures her to tell about Nick on camera.
Putting all the details in place, Barbara's pro-life documentary has everything she needs, but because of pressure from Nick's family and the church her boss kills the story. She is infuriated.
Angel and Frankie convince Barbara to help them get the truth to the police about Frankie's involvement in the robbery. Barbara fights to have her broadcast reinstated. Fr. Dominic is sent away in shame. Angel has the baby. Barbara is recognized as an investigative reporter.
