A down-on-his-luck former TV star is forced to take a part in a small-town community theater production where he finds love, murder, and the supernatural.
SYNOPSIS:
"Final Curtain" is a comedy thriller about a haunted community theater in a small Midwestern town. They are mounting a production of a new play when a death occurs, a ghost keeps appearing, and there are a few other strange goings-on. But much more frightening is the fact that opening night is approaching.
This script is a love letter to small-town theater productions. All the favorite types are here: the aging matron who gets all the "queen" and "mother" roles, the doe-eyed ingénue who hides a dark secret, the young know-it-all theater kid who can't stop correcting everyone else on their lines, the talented and handsome leading man who is running from his troubled past, the lecherous older guy who keeps getting parts mainly because he is the only one who shows up to audition, the giggling teen girls who are trying to pad their college applications with "community activities," the smarmy director whose resume isn't quite as gilded as he claims, the harried stage manager who manages to keep things running, and the grizzled tech guy who can't believe he's still doing this after all these years.
And there is also a murder mystery that threatens to turn opening night into a disaster.
