BERKELEY GIRL
By Emmett Loverde

GENRE: Family, Comedy
LOGLINE:

Bridget studies at Berkeley and works at a coffee house owned by ex-rock-star Jeff. Helping Bridget find her way is Jeff's clever young daughter Jilly.

SYNOPSIS:

Bridget, a graduate student in the wildly progressive city of Berkeley, California carves out her life path while working at a trendy coffee house owned by an aging former musical star Jeff who was a member of just about every local band of every style of music (Punk, Heavy Metal, Folk) for the past forty years. Helping -- and sometimes even guiding -- Bridget on her way are Jeff's clever 11-year-old daughter Jilly and her moody co-worker Wallace, a perpetual student. In the pilot episode, Bridget invites Jeff to a Taffeta Scarecrow (Ska) reunion concert while Jilly is asked on a swimming date by her forward-thinking, bookish classmate Quabius. As she and Jilly compare notes about their respective dates, Bridget realizes she could learn quite a bit from her easygoing young friend.
