“CHANCES”

SYNOPSIS
Another winning season rewarded producer Jake Richardson appointment as the managing director for an expansion appointment for St. Vincent. The new gig promised financial and logistical support from the established base… talk to the right connections, build a functioning studio… make yourself visible and available across the territory.
In a stroke of experienced luck, while checking in to the private Law Academy for his first nights in Kingstown, Jake happened to meet a Caribbean beauty launching her own one-off fashion business… a fortuitous cross-over: Suzzette Lyondotte needed exposure… Jake needed name recognition and connections in the capital.
‘BIZnetworx South’… the television/equity property Jake was tasked with building had a large bank line and a black book of numbers to give it a loaded start. At first, the support worked… and Jake leveraged it to empower his task… while generating exposure for Suzzette’s ‘Herself/Yourself’ venture. Added growth support appeared in the form of two new equity-sharing clients bringing credit lines with them at the end of the current quarter.
As a controlled test of some new tech boxes, Jake produced a ‘Suzzette Special’ for controlled release to generate interest in her original creations. The release worked as a test of the studio, the tech staff, and the market appeal for the fashions… the store sold out in a day.
Success brought new challenges… rebuilding/restocking the fashion racks… increasing production quality and turn-around time so the promised new clients could be dealt when scheduled. Both challenges were being met… until an existing equity client expanded its results performance in advance of a worldwide shareholder’s response report. In a live test of online early detection results, CanCure demonstrated outstanding malignacy identity rates… and even better investor returns,
Back at head office, leaked news of the over-the-top results, and an aside conversation between Jake’s friend and the principal owner of IBS/CanCure, transferred Jake and the expansion from being an insider to being lost baggage forgotten by promised fortune right now.
The change of allegiance at base swallowed Jake’s bank line… operating funds, tech upgrades, staff salaries, and new venture support. He was on his own… in a land where he was a newcomer. Bleak is a term in the Caribbean usually restricted to the outlook in advance of a hurricane… but it felt like it was appropriate to attach it to today… until Suzzette made a call that injected connections she had that were capable of replacing the departed trust with new connections willing to help people who’d never asked for help before.
