SYNOPSIS:

Winner of the 2024 Lisbon and London Sunday Shorts Film Festival, “Heartstrings” finds two grieving parents receiving an unexpected visitor, unaware that along with this visitor comes a gift they never knew they needed. While one sees this as an opportunity to heal, the other struggles to see past the comforting unforgiveness and all-consuming bitterness that they now feel they’re unable to live without.

With the flexibility to stand on its own as a short film, "Heartstrings" was created to serve as proof-of-concept for the magical-realistic drama series, “Leave Your Mark.” A connective, anthology series, “Leave Your Mark” takes place over a 24-hour time period where a random string of strangers and unrelated encounters all contribute to the same major, life-changing event. “Heartstrings” is a snippet that meets us in the midst of it all. By taking a deeper look into the ripple effects that our interactions make throughout society, “Heartstrings” and “Leave Your Mark” both give in-depth views into how our decisions and treatments of our fellow neighbors impact those we come in contact with, and even those we never will.
