The Viet Nam jungle where he had lost men under his command, lives on darkly in Mac's memory, until an unlikely opportunity leads him to realize he's not alone in fighting the demons of war, and puts him in the hands of others with similar spirit decaying experiences, who have risen above the pain;  but the journey's not easy, because the jungle always wants you back.
