SYNOPSIS:
Can a fish in water survive a fish-out-of-water adventure? Tank’s is the story of devil-may-care rogue Tony, who is kidnapped from his Amazonian world to a pet shop in snowy Rochester. His only thoughts are of escape, but those plans are sidelined when he sees the fish of his dreams, crusading princess Maya. One problem: She lives in salt water and he lives in fresh. Starting a charm offensive, Tony really only manages to be offensive. He literally crashes an aquatic cotillion, embarrassing the host, Maya’s father. And he’s goaded into the Fish Bowl 500, a race rigged to embarrass him. Worse, his chaotic efforts catch the eye of Kang, the sinewy tyrant eel who thrives on iron-finned control. When Tony refuses Kang’s efforts to harness his natural charms, Kang sets out to destroy Tony by crushing those around him, including Maya. The watery world watches in horror as a fight about Kang between Tony and his cichlid sidekick Chico leads to Chico’s death. Shunned from society, Tony’s eyes are finally opened to the predations of Kang’s reign. But is it too late for him to step up and correct the wrongs? Can he save a world in which Soul-singing flatfish, Bollywood-dancing neon tetras, and pin-wheeling starfish disguise an underworld of paralyzing fear, stifling inequality and fading freedoms?
