SYNOPSIS:
1843, near Dunstanburgh, Ireland, a local constable checks on a small village known for carrying on ancient Celtic traditions. One of the traditions was reciting an incantation to invite the spirits of the dead to visit. What he sees, mortifies him, as he passes the local cemetery. Every person in the village lies dead facing toward heaven. No sign of murder… no known cause of death… Only a ten year old boy sits in the middle of the bodies holding an ancient scroll, with strange Celtic writing. The boy only reports that the ghosts invited the living to visit the dead in heaven. He was told to wait until sundown to read the scroll and bring the living’s spirits back again. The constable in horror, takes the boy away who screams in protest. The authorities bury the bodies, and the boy is sent to America to live with his relatives. The only object the boy takes is the ancient Celtic scroll. The boy grows up, and fights for the Union’s Irish Brigade in the American Civil War. As his brigade is slaughtered at Gettysburg, He chants in Celtic. The spirits of the dead rejoin the fight, and the Confederates are turned back. The Irish Brigade never experience a slaughter again. The Celtic chanter returns home to live quietly. The man dies, but passes his scroll to the male heirs in his family. His grandson learns the chant, and uses it during World War One. Many people report seeing a white light or faint figure near him during the war. The man reports it is his PaPa. In 1993, the last male heir dies childless. While cleaning out his room, the ancient Celtic scroll was found. It was made public last year. Iarraim ort a Ghobnait Naofa, Guidhe ar mo shon is ar son gach éinne, atá sínte anseo i dteannta a chéile, ag feitheamh le Dia chun sinn a shaoradh. The ghosts of the dead are now encroaching upon you.
