One might call them Paris-ites; I call them a half-hour comedy.

Ursula Stone is fresh off the ashram and pushing 30 when she discovers that the "stock-trading game" her father taught her as a kid—before he was incarcerated for embezzlement—wasn't a game at all: Her mock portfolio is worth $18M. She's never had a job. Never filed taxes. And she's just landed in a city that forgives neither.

Olivier Stern is her brand-new stepbrother: Hapless libertarian doomsday consultant.

With US and French tax authorities closing in, a soon-to-be-released white-collar criminal dad coming for his money, and a shared interest in sparing their newlywed parents a pair of heart attacks—Ursula and Olivier decide to play nice: They launch Stone & Stern Alternative Venture Capital, backing founders who believe consciousness is expanding, civilization is collapsing, or who start their pitch with “So, here's what they don't want you to know..."
