ESCAPE FROM THE ARDENNES

ESCAPE FROM THE ARDENNES
By Michael "Cap" Caputo

GENRE: War, Drama
LOGLINE:

1944 Front line story of a lone American tank crew lost in the Ardennes Forest just as the Germans launch the Battle of the Bulge. Beware: the Ardennes, once entered does not willingly release you. (War, Drama, Tragedy)

SYNOPSIS:

From the WW2 historical-fiction novel by Keith C. Chase. https://www.amazon.com/Escape-...

In the fiercely cold Belgian December of 1944, mechanical trouble delays an American tank from reaching the front with the main armored force. Following a questionable map, encountering retreating US GIs moving in every possible direction, and with all radio communication jammed by the Germans, the nearly bewildered tank crew settle in to ambush any oncoming Germans.

Unknown to them, they are already on the wrong side of the front line. The Germans have launched what will come to be called the Battle of the Bulge; and they are alone, surrounded, in the middle of the bulge.

After springing their trap they find the tank they kill is just the first in a column of German armored infantry. Their chance of surviving the next few minutes is miniscule. Bailing out of their damaged tank they scatter into the Ardennes Forest; expecting to meet up to find their way back to the American line together.

The story line then splits into the unique circumstances of each tank soldier's experiences; as they strive to survive the combined terrors of the German war machine, civilians loyal to Nazi Germany, equipment failure, the might of the Allies' long range cannons, and possibly more deadly, the enormous size and unforgiving winter weather in the cold dense Ardennes Forest.
