A freshwater crisis in California, leads the U.S. into a `water war’ against Canada. Pitting American and Canadian families against each other, as America attempts to seize the water they need to survive.
SYNOPSIS:
When the Canadian governments refuses to allow bulk water sales to a water starved California, Gov. Swartz, and his advisors, explain California’s critical water needs to the US President and wait for a reply from the White House as to how to proceed. Californian Governor Swartz then tries again to reason with the Canadian Prime Minister, but
In Coalinga California, Sarah, a Marine sniper, and her unemployed husband prepare to meet her beloved Canadian cousin, Jeff, an NGO leader, in Vancouver BC, for a family visit. These plans are scuttled when she suddenly receives orders to join the attack on BC, with further orders to kill the new resistance leaders, one being her cousin-Jeff, and the other a First Nation leader, Jean. Families on both sides of the border are now pitted against each other.
American army engineers start laying down a pipeline, to be used, to take water from Atllin Lake in northern BC down to California. A group of urban NGOs and Atlin Indigenous leaders join forces to form ‘gorilla resistance’ groups. With the help of Canadian Army General McGregor, they attack the new pipeline as it’s being laid down on the Canadian side. Later, Jeff, the new urban gorilla leader, is ‘eliminated’ by his American cousin Sarah, who in turn, is later killed in Atlin by Jean, the First Nation resistance leader.
During the American invasion into Canada, sudden catastrophic climate changes, cause excessive flooding in California ‘s north, creating destruction of the water infrastructure and more drought and fires in the south, which in turn exacerbates the lack of drinking water for the enter state and other western states. This leads to mass evacuations and panic in Western US states. President Dillan is forced to cancel her invasion and cut a deal with the Canadian Prime Minister, so that the American army can be withdrawn from Canada to assist with the climate emergency at home.
Sarah is laid to rest in Coalinga California and Jeff, her cousin, in Vancouver. In a move for reconciliation, Canadian ‘eco- disaster volunteers’ arrive at LA Airport terminal to assist the Americans. Watching nearby, the Canadian general and the California governor shake hands and agree to work together from now on. President Dillan and General Stone retire together to Costa Rica.
