A woman’s unsolved murder in 1973 and a disappearance over a decade later
intertwine, unearthing the horrors of a conversion therapy camp,
revealing the evolution of a serial killer, and offering one man a shot
at redemption.
SYNOPSIS:
Deliver Me weaves together two timelines to reveal the dark legacy of religious violence and psychological manipulation. In 1978, a boy escapes from a conversion therapy camp. He confesses to the local Sheriff, "We killed her," unveiling a series of events connected to the murder of Emma White, a woman who tragically becomes a victim of her husband’s religious control while assisting him with teenage boys at a conversion therapy camp.
A decade later, RJ Connors—a brilliant but closeted doctoral candidate—travels upstate to meet a male love interest, only to become entangled with Jeremiah White, a fanatical psychiatrist with a sinister past. As RJ confronts his trauma and fights for survival, his best friend, Candy, and her parents uncover the truth about Jeremiah and the trail of missing men linked to his warped ideology.
We move back and forth between Emma and the boys in 1978 and RJ in 1988 to discover the evolution of a dogmatic madman and the tragic aftermath for those he’s left in his wake.
The series examines the devastating impact of high-control religion, exploring how it perpetuates cycles of violence and manipulation, affecting both the perpetrator and the victim. At its core, Deliver Me is a story of self-acceptance and redemption as RJ confronts his inner demons and emerges victorious with the support of those he loves.
