SYNOPSIS:
When an outspoken eleven year old Terry Sanders nails the audition for an international singing contest, she didn’t just steal the hearts of the audience but also those of her co-contestants. Judges think she’s a bundle of sunshine with a voice of an angel. In fact, every person thinks that except for Brenda, a fellow eleven year old contestant. Where Terry is the one to brighten up everyone’s day and has fun in the competition, Brenda is the total opposite. Make no mistake, Brenda has the talent. She’s target driven and continues to push herself. Being from a wealthy background, where everything came easy to her, she still believes she has something to prove and most importantly to herself. Nothing but being the best will suffice. For an eleven year old who is supposed to enjoy her childhood, Brenda lacks compassion and spirit which makes her mean to everyone, including Terry. A change of fate occurs when Brenda experiences voice problems during the finals. Even though she tries she is unable to compete further. The audience and judges wait patiently for her to continue, a murmur starts amongst the audience, Brenda unable to contain her disappointment and fear, burst into tears on stage with everyone watching. All she pictures is the disappointed look her stern competitive and successful father would be giving her. Feeling completely alone and isolated from everyone, she takes small steps back. While Brenda’s theme song is still playing in the background Terry comes to the stage and takes her hand, giving her an assuring nod and smiling, making Brenda understand that despite their differences, she’s not alone. The judges sensing what Terry’s intention is, they stop her and inform her that if she continues, she would be disqualified. Terry gives the judges one of her famous angelic smiles and fills the crowd’s ears with her beautiful voice (Whitney Houston’s classic- Greatest love of all). One by one the other young contestants follows suit and join the girls on stage, touching everyone with their act of compassion and innocence.
Lyrics from a George Benson tune, correct?
