GRASSHOPERR - THE BEGINNING
By Amit Kumar Vashisth

GENRE: Sci-fi
LOGLINE: AN A.I. SCHOLAR STRIVING TO PROTECT THE PRISTINE HIMALAYAN ECOSYSTEM, THREATENED BY A GLOBAL CLIMATE-CONTROL GIANT, STUMBLES UPON A LINK BETWEEN AN ANCIENT FOLKLORE AND AN INCREDIBLE FUTURISTIC TECHNOLOGY.

SYNOPSIS:

January 2030: Climate-Change hits like a curse, the legendary Himalayas begin to crumble and the world famous Himalayan Institute of Technology - HIT - braces itself for evacuation… tomorrow morning! “Will the same ‘Technology’ that brought us to this point, be able to reverse the Climate-Curse? Or only a ‘Miracle’ can save us now?” This question is running in Sandy’s head as he tries to hack into an underground conscious-AI powered Chatting Metaverse, searching for his team-mate and lover Zoya - who vanished a week ago, taking with her a plug-in to complete their PhD Free Energy project! After trying for a week Sandy is left with just one night to find Zoya and save the HIT. As the ghoulish night unfolds… a hideous creature appears in HIT, and millions of blood-sucking-locusts pour down the dark skies, but a miracle also happens, MaaEri - the mysterious aboriginal deity - comes alive and begins to weave her web of illusion, beating the planet’s largest Artificial Climate Curation Corporation - TUN’GUS’KAÜ - at its own game. Chaos is found rooted on one fateful night, 3 decades ago, when Science clashed with the native Faith, forever entangling the fates of three men - KN Ratoori (HOD AI of HIT), Babu Bamrada (last ‘head priest’ of MaaEri’s temple) and Goldie (a fugitive AI scholar of HIT from the 90s).
