GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

After a relative tragically sacrifices her life, a gifted medium considers and ultimately accepts an offer to perform a dangerous exorcism on an abandoned estate that has been on the auction block for years.

SYNOPSIS:

Dana is a bright and promising young medium, just 19. We open with her already inside a sprawling, massive estate, on the second floor, and find her exploring the common spaces and corridors. She finds the room where recent paranormal activity has been reported. She cautiously enters. The more she ventures inside the room, the more she feels an incredible weight on her shoulders and an uneasiness that only she can physically convey. Then, suddenly, she stops in the middle of the room. Her gaze fixed upon something directly ahead of her.

Whatever she sees is so horrific. She turns towards the door to flee but it's too late. Whatever she has encountered has gripped her and has the power to not only paralyze her, but to control her body without being seen. Dana is forced back towards her attacker. Every limb of her body moves as if she's submerged under water. Her gaze is once again fixed ahead on it. She lets out an earth-shattering scream that is silenced. The light dims, shrouding her in darkness. The door she came through, her only way out, slams shut in the far distance.

Months, perhaps years later, we find Christina, 38, among friends in a casual get-together outside in nature. Her friends debate, even argue each other on the merits of an offer Christina has received. Go to the estate and pick up where Dana left off to perform an exorcism in exchange for guaranteed compensation and insurance to cover her family for years to come regardless of whether Christina successfully clears the house or not and regardless of whether Christina survives. Christina herself is entirely absent from their conversation, even off in another world. She is so deep in thought she completely ignores them, until her friends randomly invite her back in to prove themselves right. She doesn't appreciate it and walks away without saying a word.

We then find her considering the offer privately in her parked car. She decides to make the call. A mysterious and fearless man answers. The one who propositioned her. He does not mince words and does most of the talking. She doesn't immediately accept the offer and flat out objects to his terms, not only on the merits but the fact he is exploiting gifted mediums with legitimate abilities that cannot be explained. He threatens to move on to the next medium he has been in contact with if she continues to object. She concedes and accepts.

She cautiously approaches the estate, scans its architecture, forces herself to move forward even though she may not succeed. She enters the main foyer, takes in the spaces and commons rooms. The silence overwhelmes all ambiance outside and serves as a compounding energy to a house already drenched in darkness. Reluctantly, she proceeds up the stairs to the second floor. She feels the emotions weighing on her just as much as they did on Dana. Resentment, bitterness, anger, frustration, hate, the need for revenge.

She sees the room, enters, switches on the light, closes the door behind her. Then, in an unusual and curious move, she turns the light off. She begins the exorcism. She becomes surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves. We can only hear them closing in. The second she opens her eyes, her gaze is fixed directly ahead. She sees it. Suddenly, she's lifted off the floor, becomes immobilized. Two jagged bite wounds puncture the side of her neck, causing blood to flow. The veins in her neck become infected. Then her body is released to the wolves, who feed without mercy.

The last thing we see is an unnatural and unearthly, disturbing light glowing through the crack of the closed door. It grows brighter and brighter as if taking over the house.
