An optimistic yet snakebitten PGA golfer gives up his tour card and buys his flailing childhood golf course to manage as mid-life career change, but when the course comes with a crew of hapless staff and a cast of unruly members, our hero introduces an eccentric philosophy to keep everyone on track: the rules of golf are the rules of life!
SYNOPSIS:
This is not a show about golf, but rather a celebration of the eccentric people who populate low level golf courses. The 19th Hole is our chance to demystify the perception of golf as an elitist sport. And Stony Lakes is the experiment. A place where we reckon with our better selves. A home-away-from- home for the drunks, cheats, and gamblers in all of us.
The 19th Hole is a workplace sitcom that takes its cues from character-driven comedies like Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Office, and 30 Rock. Gordon's can-do attitude and uber-positivity also tips a visor to feel-good comedies like Ted Lasso, whose optimistic hero inspires a quirky and uniquely hilarious ensemble to victory against overwhelming odds.
