A disheartened young customer service rep finds a renewed sense of Christmas when she gets a phone call from a customer that changes her world.
SYNOPSIS:
In EXCHANGING CHRISTMAS I took cues from other romantic comedies, such asSleepless in Seattle, and put it in a Christmas setting, because I believe fate can bring people together in many different ways. And, when I make a phone call to return or exchange something, I naturally wonder who is on the other side of the line. What does that person looks like? Who are they? What do they do for fun? So EXCHANGING CHRISTMAS explores can two people that just have exchanges over the phone form a relationship?
For Lucy Adams, the holidays have always been special, but this year is different. Stuck working as a customer service rep instead of pursuing her dream of interior design, Lucy works horrible hours and listens to irate customers every day, which has Lucy wishing she could exchange the holidays altogether. But when a stranger, Nick Hudson, calls her to return a gift, and is playing the Rudolph TV special, she remembers what the holidays are all about. And while her personal life is being thrown into disarray, she finds solace in the customer who she shares a love of the animated movie. But when the two decide to finally meet for the first time, Nick’s advertising project for a toy account derails fate and Lucy actually gets fired from her customer service rep job for taking personal calls. Lucy sees this as a sign to simply move on, and takes on a new role as a stylist for photoshoots. Her very first one is for a toy account run by someone who seems very familiar.
