SYNOPSIS:

MAJBORIYAN is a historical drama inspired by a tale from Rumi’s Masnavi, reimagined during the final years of the Mughal Empire. The story follows Nasuh, a gifted healer whose life shatters when he accidentally kills a guard serving the corrupt son of the Lahore Subehdar while defending his sister’s honor, making him a wanted man. Forced into disguise as a woman, Nasuh hides with his family and escapes from Lahore to Delhi, where he lives undercover as “Hamida,” serving as a healer in the royal women’s hammam. His secret is constantly at risk, especially during a violent Eid celebration at Roshanara Bagh, where Mughal Princess Jahanara, royal family members, nobles, and elite women are attacked by the feared outlaw Daku Chengezi. Nasuh’s courage saves lives. Eventually, fleeing to Bombay, he reclaims his identity and builds a new future through theatre, healing, and resilience.

MAJBORIYAN is written as a screenplay for a potential Bollywood movie, with action scenes in English and dialogue in Urdu/Hindi. It is the Hindi version of the writer’s English script titled Deadly Romance.
