SYNOPSIS:
John's father suffers from PTSD, and John does not want to follow in his steps. Disappointed, Peter tells his unit to stop the recruitment. However, another type of recruiter appears, one with far greater knowledge about John and his father, but he refuses to take no for an answer. John's parents are killed, but John is given no time to grieve as Sir Rep meets him again. He kidnaps John, who then wakes up in a medieval world, and quickly learns of the magic at play. Princess Katlyn is watching over him as awakens, setting of a close friendship that would continue to grow. He also finds out he is much faster, and a lot stronger. Under the tutelage of Sir Rep, he learns from the draca, King Malant, and a powerful wizard named Babel, just what is at stake: a prophecy proclaims that he is a hero, come to stop the world from falling into chaos and causing a chain reaction that would destroy this land, and reach across the universe to destroy Earth. He comes to terms with the kidnapping, and decides to help train the armies to fight off a race of creatures known as draikens, nasty beasts with dragon-like bodies, four arms, two legs, log tales with a bone protruding from the end most often sharpened to a point, and sharp teeth and claws. They are amassing in the north and moving through the mountains. King Malant is also afraid that the dragon mother Shenora is due to return any time with a brood of hatchlings, and that means a terrorizing reign of fire and destruction. As the armies prepare to march and start their campaign to rid Majastica of the draikens, Shenora does return, causing fear and panic. In a desperate attempt to slay the dragon before winter comes and she hibernates with her young (which would give them time to grow), Malant sends his son and much needed soldiers while he and John lead the rest of the army north, battling village by village as John learns more and more about Majastica and how the nation is run. As news reaches them that Prince Edward had failed, the draikens begin pushing back, pushing the army back to King Malant's castle, where Shenora takes her revenge. During the attack, while retreating to safe shelter, Babel is attacked and disappears, presumed dead. After the tragedy, Ronnasso sends thousands of troops to aid the king. John leads them to victory, pushing the draikens back through the mountains, and he takes the men to Dragon's Peak, Shenora's home. Setting a trap on the Plateau, the army ensnares the great dragon and they are able to slay her at a great cost of life, including that of Sir Rep, and Sir Henry. John learns that he can become a leader, and that people will follow him if he inspires them, teaches them how to work together and survive, even as he loses close friends. Upon the triumphant, tragic return, John learns that a wizard's apprentice can send him back home, but Katlyn tells him that he would lose his memory, save for what his heart could carry. John wakes back up at home, right at the same moment he had disappeared in the beginning, with his parents to greet him. End of Season 1
