A long-haul trucker plagued by hallucinations, takes on the most dangerous route in the country that is under constant attack from rebels known to kill drivers. But as he discovers the reason for his hallucinations, he begins to believe he’s on the wrong side of the truth.

SYNOPSIS:

David is a long-haul trucker working for the Lengate Corporation. He drives a road train 3 carriages long, stopping at farms to pick up cattle and transport them to the slaughterhouses dotted along the coast. Gangs roam the landscape attacking the road trains, freeing the cattle and more often than not, killing the driver too. Special militia patrol the roads hunting these so-called terrorists and putting them to death. But the militia themselves have an agenda and want their piece of payment. Once such payment is when Moses, the leader of the local Militia talks David into giving him a heifer so they may breed with her and their village become more self-sufficient. Against his better judgement and with his life under threat, David agrees and offloads one of the female cattle. But this act haunts him, and he can’t figure out why.

David is an obese man and four weeks ago he found an old weight loss magazine he’s been following to shake off some of his bulk. Little does he know that something as small as trying to better himself will begin a conflict that threatens to bring down the paper house of not only his immediate bosses, but of the Lengate Corporation itself. David has also been suffering from hallucinations so vivid they threaten to send him mad, and this has had him come to the attention of Rosco, the local supervisor of Lengate. Lengate treat hallucinations extremely seriously and when any of their drivers experience them, they are never seen again. When one such hallucination hits David he is saved by Annie, one of the local terrorists stopping the trucks and freeing the loads. It is then David learns the awful secret that since he has put himself on a diet, he has stopped ingesting a drug the Lengate Corporation has mixed in all the food to keep the population passive, working and stupid. The real world is what David sees in his hallucinations and discovers what he’s been transporting to the killing floors isn’t cattle at all, but immigrants being pushed North due to ongoing conflict in their own lands.

When David realises what he actually offloaded to Moses, he exacts a terrible revenge on the entire corporation. But Rosco and his gang aren’t going to let a fat trucker destroy their plans and throw everything in David’s way to stop him. But David has 150 tonnes of rolling steel beneath him and is hell bent on revenge.
