SYNOPSIS:

The series is set in medieval Europe. The pilot opens with the creation of the first werewolves by a sorcerer, using a talisman known as the MoonWraith. Centuries later, Kizzy Faw, under order of the King, is on her way to a fort that has been built atop an ancient silver mine. It is thought that the MoonWraith lies hidden in the mine. The King's hope is that it can be found and used to destroy the werewolves. The King hopes that Kizzy can use her Sight to locate it. Along the way, Kizzy and the guards she is traveling with are set upon by werewolves in their human forms. Kizzy suffers a head injury. Two guards get Kizzy free, and reach the fort with her. After sunset, a plan by the werewolves reaches fulfillment—they have tunneled into the fort. With werewolves inside, the defenders are fighting a battle on two fronts as more werewolves make it over the walls. Nearly all of those in the fort are killed or turned. One man, Jal Buckland, blows up a forge. The explosion—and the silver shrapnel it hurls—kills several werewolves and injures more, sending them into retreat. The few remaining defenders manage to take the pack's alpha female, Genevieve Yon, prisoner. Kizzy discovers that her Sight is gone—at least for now—as a result of her injury. She spends some time guarding Genevieve while the alpha female is in human form. Their talk allows Kizzy to learn much about the werewolves and their society. Meanwhile, Othon Yon, Genevieve's mate, is having a difficult time holding control of the pack given his failure. Old tensions rise, pressuring him. Othon opts for a one-man suicide mission in which he hopes to set the fort on fire. He hopes to at least damage it enough to that his pack can breach the defenses again. When Othon arrives, he is confronted with Genevieve—whom he thought dead—as a prisoner held as insurance against further attacks. Othon leaves, plotting her rescue. Jal is selected to go on a one-man mission of his own to bring back help. With him gone, the few remaining survivors will need to hold the fort alone. They hope that keeping Genevieve prisoner will keep them alive. The pilot ends with Kizzy confiding in Eldred Cooper—Jal's best friend—about her lost Sight, asking him to help keep her secret. From there, future episodes of the series will see tensions continue to mount among the humans and werewolves alike. A love triangle will form between Kizzy, Jal, and Eldred. Another woman will come to live at the fort—a thief, who will become a surrogate mother to Kizzy, and a love interest for the fort's commander. Eventually, the fabled MoonWraith will be discovered. But when, and to what result, are the questions.
