When the souls of his beloved grandmother and a trickster demon possess his cat, a mild-mannered man must summon the courage to perform a dangerous ritual to save them, or watch as everyone he loves is tricked into brutally killing themselves and each other.
SYNOPSIS:
“Bad Kitty” is like “The Monkey” meets “Final Destination Bloodlines”. Ben Shirazi always considered himself average. Attractive, not handsome. Funny, not exciting. Just a “nice” guy. He dreamed of being a writer, but is content to work as a teacher. His life isn’t perfect, but he’s happy until it all comes crashing down. First, his fiancée, Jillian, who he doesn’t realize is pregnant, dumps him for someone more ambitious. Then, his beloved grandmother, Neda, is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. To top it off, the nightmares he had as a child, red glowing eyes coming to get him, have returned. As her Alzheimer’s progresses, Neda’s paranoia and dementia grow. She also becomes obsessed with the occult. One day, Ben comes home to find Neda lying in bed. She seems to have died while performing a ritual. Ben steps out while Vivian, Neda’s nurse, changes her. Ben hears Vivian shrieking in pain and races back in to find her lying on the floor in a puddle of her own blood. Her face and body have been slashed to ribbons. The window’s closed, and the only ones in the room were Neda, who’s dead, and Cletus, who seems to have slept through it all.
Suddenly, people around Ben begin dying in the most horrific ways. His uncle falls down the stairs, breaks his neck, and is eaten by his dog. For no discernible reason, Jillian beats her new boyfriend, Theo, to death with a skillet, before pressing her face against the stove’s red-hot burner, and holding it there as her flesh melts and her hair catches fire. Ben’s cousin Van snorts some cocaine, then proceeds to rip his face off. The only thing they have in common is that Cletus was found at each gruesome scene. Ben and his best friend, Darius, turn to Holly, the owner of an occult shop and a friend, as well as a former student of Neda’s. Holly discovers Neda was trying to astral project into her nurse’s body, hoping to swap places with her, only she accidentally opened a portal to Hell, which allowed a trickster demon to crossover. Now the demon and Neda’s souls are both inside Cletus, wrestling for control. The demon will wear Neda and Cletus down by torturing the person they both love the most: Ben. It’s going to force Ben to watch as everyone he loves is tricked into brutally killing themselves, and each other. Then, when he’s emotionally gutted, the demon will sacrifice Ben, allowing it to fully possess Cletus, which will open a portal to Hell, releasing an army of demons led by their queen, Lilith.
Holly goes to her shop to research ways to defeat the demon, while Ben and Darius race to save his family, only to watch in horror as Ben’s mother, brother, Aunt, her husband, and his uncle all die horrific deaths. They manage to save his Aunt Farah, and the three of them join Holly. When the demon tricks Farah into killing herself, Ben offers his soul for Darius and Holly’s lives. When the demon comes to collect, Ben tricks it into walking into a pentagram, trapping it. As Holly imprisons the demon in a crystal, Ben will have to go into Hell itself to save Neda and Cletus.
