GENRE: Drama, Thriller / Suspense
LOGLINE:
Daniel is trying to overcome the tragic death of his wife and child. Unable to continue his life as it was prior to their death, he decides to lead a very different life and moves to an isolated countryside somewhere in the Orient. He hopes to find solace to his pain by isolating himself.
In the beautiful valley, his new residence, strange things begin to happen around him. He sees visions of his dead wife and he is haunted by a strange, unseen figure. He is unable to contemplate what is happening to him, so he seeks the advice of a monk who resides in a monastery nearby. His journey will lead him to the path of forgiveness and to achieving a higher state of spirituality.
This sounds like a cool story, very mysterious. And it has a nice theme going for it. As a logline, it's too long. It reads more like a pitch or synopsis. Try being more specific and forgetting that it's a mystery. Instead, give away the best part first. I wanted to know where exactly in the Orient is this? China? Who is the strange figure? Is this the antagonist? You hint that Daniel is somehow feeling guilty for his wife's death - why? Try this simple formula: a HERO pursues a GOAL while ovecoming OBSTACLES and an ATAGONIST. But it sounds like an interesting world and one we have't seen too much of before.

Thanks. Had feedback on the full script recently and will start preparing the 2nd draft soon.
