A grieving mother must forgive the family friend responsible for the fatal accident that took her husband and only child in order to move forward and find the strength to fulfill her son’s final wish of a Valentine tree that brings healing and happiness to the community.

SYNOPSIS:

VICTORIA IRELAND, 32, knows her eight-year-old son GABRIEL, although awkward and not too skilled on the basketball court, his team not having won a single game, will one day have his shining moment. While shooting hoops at the park with his mom and dad, Gabriel notices unhappiness in others and the big city park evergreen tree. Seeing her young son’s big heart and upon his plea, Victoria promises to help decorate the “Valentine tree” and bring smiles of joy and happiness to the community.

However, on the way home to make ornaments, Victoria loses her husband GABE, 34, and only child Gabriel in a tragic accident caused by MATTHEW, 34, Gabe’s best friend. Victoria succumbs to grief until her elderly neighbor MS. MAMIE, 79, refuses to allow her a life of self-pity and isolation.

With Ms. Mamie’s friendship and encouragement, Victoria journeys through the grieving process and meets PETER, 36, unknowingly a widower, and through daily lunch encounters, they begin to open their hearts again to life… and one another. Feeling guilty, and thinking Peter is married, Victoria stops meeting Peter and focuses only on the preparation of Gabriel’s Valentine tree deciding it is better late than never to fulfill her promise to her son.

As Victoria releases the past and fulfills Gabriel’s Valentine tree, she offers forgiveness to Matthew, again, and is in awe of the outpouring of love as the community comes together to show their support and release their own heartaches. Surprised to see Peter, Victoria and Peter discover neither are married and they move forward to figure out life together, slowly, and Victoria knows Gabriel’s shining moment is more than just a moment… it is Gabriel’s legacy.
