When a milquetoast postal worker in 1900s Wichita stumbles on a machine of unimaginable power, he bands together with the inventor’s adventurous granddaughter to thwart a mad scientist bent on world domination.
SYNOPSIS:
1925. Kansas. All MORTIMER wants to do is work his quiet Post Office job to pay for his ailing mother’s care.
Meanwhile, two enemies search the world for a machine capable of harnessing unlimited power.
GUSTAV, an unhinged megalomaniac (part proto-Hitler, part Phantom of the Opera, part disco ball) is incensed that Germany lost the Big War wants it to power his Mega-Mayhem Machine, and VICTORIA, daughter of the machine’s inventor, wants to use it to provide electricity for the masses.
Before the war, the box was hidden in … you guessed it: Kansas. And Mortimer just found it. And by found it, I mean dropped it. And activated it. Both a beacon and a bomb, the battery is quickly tracked by both Gustav and Victoria. She finds Mortimer just as Gustav arrives.
And then Mortimer's world explodes ... literally. During a chase, Gustav fires his weapon at Mortimer (and the box.) BOOOM! A massive explosion, culminating in a Mortimer-sized hole in a nearby brick wall.
Mortimer awakens unharmed but glowing like a lightning bug. Through experiments Victoria gleans that Mortimer has the power to absorb unlimited energy, making him indestructible.
Imagine Superman if he was always Clark Kent. And an incredible coward.
Can Mortimer find the courage to vanquish Gustav, destroy his weapon, and save the world—all before he visits mom in the hospital on Saturday?
