SYNOPSIS:

Inspired by the wonderful folks who’ve made refeuling whatever you drive so cheap and easy.

Confused and disoriented, TED BURKE, 32, opens his front door to find a proper gentleman on his doorstep. The fellow introduces himself as Ted’s new BUTLER, (38 to 50). Ted had no idea he even had a butler. In fact, Ted doesn’t have any idea about pretty much everything. Apparently, the death of a wealthy yet distant relative left Ted a check with a long line of zeros and The Butler.

With Ted being a young Denzel Washington type and The Butler resembling every Michael Caine domestic, the potential for friction is evident. Still, the new manservant inserts himself into Ted’s world by asking seemingly innocuous questions. Ted can’t remember the answers. He’s suffering from short term amnesia and a massive headache.

Since Ted’s condo is woefully lacks supplies, the pair goes out to breakfast. While Ted flirts with an overly familiar waitress, The Butler covertly dispatches a gang of Security Men from Commodore Energy who are keeping tabs on Ted.

The pair continues on to Ted’s bank, where the branch manager, CECELIA CLARK, 28, offers financial advisory services to Ted while his massive check clears. The Butler notes the amount of money Ted’s inherited will probably generate a lot of “helpful” offers.

The moment the trio steps outside the bank, the Security Thugs return, kidnaping Ted and taking Cecelia along for insurance. They leave The Butler knocked down but not quite out on the pavement. The thugs escort their captives to Commodore Energy, where CEO MYRA VALENTINO, 48, interrogates Ted about a missing object. When Ted insists he has no idea what she’s talking about, Myra determines to use more drastic methods.

A timely intervention by The Butler frees Ted and Cecelia. Obviously Ted has to lay low. Cecelia recommends Ted buy a new car and take cover in a hotel. He pops for the hottest car he can find and heads for a luxury inn, convincing Cecelia to spend the night despite The Butler’s objections.

The next morning, Ted’s amnesia erases all his previous day’s memories. Badly shaken, he bolts from the hotel only to be taken captive by Security Agents from Induction Energy. They take him to their curmudgeonly Chairman, ANGUS FARRADAY, 65, who grills him for the same information Myra Valentino wanted.

The Butler and Cecelia extract Ted again, but not before Farraday shows him security footage of Ted infiltrating the lab of DR. ALAN MENKEN, 55. The scientist has invented acceleration device enabling the rapid charging of practically any electric engine. In the footage, the lab is also invaded by Commodore thugs. Before the professor can safeguard his only working prototype, shots are fired. Grazed in the crossfire, Ted makes off with the Converter. The professor is far less lucky. Now Farraday, and everybody else, wants to know what Ted did with the Converter before the bullet cost Ted his memory.

Returning to Ted’s condo, Ted, Cecelia and The Butler find storage facility cartons and realize that’s where Ted stashed the Converter. The moment he touches the Converter, all his memories come flooding back. Ted realizes he was at Menken’s lab to steal the device, making him the bad guy. The Butler turns out to be another double-crosser as he clocks Ted and takes off with the gizmo.

Ted knows where The Butler is headed and he catches up to just as The Butler boards a train. The Induction and Commodore contingents are also aboard for their monthly high stakes poker game. At first, Ted and the Butler face off against each other. Then, they face a series of furious battles with the Security Thugs. Cecelia convinces them to Ted and The Butler fight together to confront the greedy energy executives.

The Butler lures these antagonists off the train with a decoy converter. Ted and Cecelia deliver the real thing to a respectable media outlet, where the news of its existence will keep it from being exploited by the energy companies. Later, The Butler finds Ted and Cecelia back in the luxury hotel. Ted and The Butler face off over their mutual differences and tear the hotel suite apart. Cecelia takes one look at their melee and calls it a night.
