THE LOGLINE:

OVERVIEW:

Romantic Comedy, THEIR LOVING ARMS, is female driven, via one young woman SYDNEY EVERRETT, two maternal characters and teenage twin girls (13), plus hilarious female bit-parts. It has new female perspective insights into domestic abuse, male-female and women’s relationships. Underrepresented issues include women in business; the abuse; a comparison of identical twins, able MARTIE, versus wheelchair bound ANNA showing both are equally formidable young women. The unique circumstance is use of a comic restaurant setting, as a metaphor of the emotionally complex, and a huge family of drama via two actual families, plus interactions of restaurant customers and Darwinian behavior of disciplined kitchen staff – all of these contrasted when things go well and go badly. There’s even a family of Firefighters. Yet love, romance and family wins – the most important unit of human survival. Some music is given for emotional counterpoint and fun.
