SERIES ONE LOGLINE: Georgia Colony, is two years old, rising crime, Spanish-Florida spies, and a war will destroy it, Scottish Highlanders are recruited to save it with John Wesley: “I come to Savannah to save souls, but who will save my soul from glorious lusts in the eyes of Sophia Hopkey?”.
SYNOPSIS:
SERIES ONE: “THE GEORGIA DIARIES – The Americas - A Savannah Paradise”. (13 Episodes)
Savannah, Georgia, is two years old and a success, but criminality and Spanish-Florida security problems jeopardize investment – the Colony may collapse. To solve the problem, General James Oglethorpe, Georgia’s founder, recruits (Later world famous) John Wesley and tough Highlanders with families, including ‘Carmichael’ and his wife Merry. Already aided by Chief Yamochichi, through these new arrivers, security will be safeguarded and criminal issues resolved. But Wesley falls foul of passion for young Sophia Hopkey and victim to William Williamson, a spy for Pope Clement XII, sent to thwart Wesley and majorly disrupt Georgia Colony. The criminal Mellichamp family, Settler Malcontents and spies cause disruption. Georgia and Savannah is anti-slavery, men and women must work to prosper. As Counterfeiters and criminals are punished and some executed, the spies flee. Security and harmony is restored. As such, Oglethorpe secures his investment for Georgia and Fort Frederica, to defend against Spanish Florida. But Wesley, a broken man, leaves Savannah for England. He leaves behind Natives, Settlers, Highlanders, and Sophia. Savannah is stable and again set for a hopeful future - if war with Spanish Florida does not break out. At the time, John Wesley said of his Savannah experience: “If You Catch on Fire, People Will Come for Miles to See You Burn”.
