In order to become the next Santa Claus, a busy engineer must complete three selfless acts of kindness before Christmas Eve.
SYNOPSIS:
DAVID, a hardworking engineer, has to present a big presentation for his
company. His mom calls and tells him that his dad is really sick and he should
come visit. When David’s presentation goes horribly wrong, after discovering that
he spilled coffee on, NOELLE, the rep from the other agency, he decides to take
the trip to see his parents for the weekend. While visiting his parents, he
discovers that they are MR. & MRS. CLAUS. His dad wants to pass along the
honor of being Santa down to him, but he must complete three selfless acts of
kindness before Christmas Eve.
Contemplating on whether or not he wants to take the mantle of being Santa
Claus, he uses his time in someone else. When his dad discovers that he’s been
using his time for Noelle and not for the selfless acts, he tries to get him back on
track. David isn’t allowed any help when performing the selfless acts and it must
be done out of the pureness of his heart. Having no idea of how to perform
selfless acts of kindness, David keeps his pursuit of Noelle.
After a few coffee dates, David discovers that Noelle helps with a local
orphanage and is planning to put on a gingerbread house making competition
for them. When a few funders back out of Noelle’s project, David tries to come
in for the rescue. With his interest building with Noelle, he utilizes the help of his
dad and best friend/head elf, BENJAMIN, to win her over by providing a location
they got with magic.
Things seemed to be going great with David and Noelle, so he decides to tell her
about his new discovery of his parents. She gets extremely angry with him and
thinks he just making fun of her because she loves Christmas so much.
As Christmas Eve nears, David is majorly depressed. He hasn’t gone to work or
pretty much anything but sit in his parents living room on the couch. After
receiving a text from Noelle, David races to the coffee shop, where they always
meet to see her. She gives him an opportunity to prove what he said was true
and with the help of Benjamin, he is able to convince her.
With time running out and David thinking he hasn’t completed any selfless
tasks, his family surprises him at the coffee shop as his last selfless act is
completed and he can take the mantle of Santa Claus. Noelle doesn’t want to
become Mrs. Claus yet but would like to continue more dates with David.

Unique spin on the Santa Claus lore, Brian E. Neal! I think it's going to be a hit!
You almost have a solid logline. I suggest changing "David" to "*a _______ (the main flaw he has to overcome in the script or an adjective that describes his personality) _______ (his title/job/career)." Names in loglines are usually for biopics, well-known stories, and franchises (like Mission: Impossible).
I suggest adding why he wants to become the next Santa Claus in the logline.

Agree with Maurice Brian E. Neal. It's a great story - you just need some specifics for the logline. All the best!
