Risk-averse Violet takes the first chance of her life when she's mistaken for her screenwriter brother and accepts his speaking gig. What starts as a cheeky prank gets complicated when Violet falls for the person she deceived.

SYNOPSIS:

Twins Violet and Sam Braxton grew up writing stories and acting them out. As adults, Sam pursued his passion for writing while film fan Violet opted for a more stable career in higher education--leaving her own dreams of writing as nothing more than a storyboard in their living room. When Sam gets called to California for filming of his novel-turned-screenplay and Violet's students show disinterest in her film class, Violet starts to feel the absence of something in her life and tells boyfriend Malcolm that she's giving herself until the Twelfth Night of Christmas to start living in a world she loves.

Violet gets her first chance to make good on her resolution when Duke, owner of House of Film, calls Violet's phone looking for Sam to speak at his screening room. Violet adopts Sam's unisex name and crushes the lecture, which reawakens her love of film and wakens some feelings for Duke, especially when they start working closely on a Twelve Nights of Film event. Unfortunately, Duke has the hots for card shop owner Olivia next door, Violet thinks Malcolm's about to propose, and Violet can't bring herself to tell Duke the truth for fear he'll no longer be impressed with her. Indeed, when Malcolm accidentally spills the beans, Duke is not happy. On Christmas Eve, Violet breaks it off with Malcolm, Sam accepts a permanent job in LA, and it seems that Duke and Olivia are hitting it off. Crushed, Violet realizes she really wants to write a screenplay and rededicates herself to make good on her resolution. At the final Twelfth Night feast, Sam arrives back in town, setting off a chain of events that leads to happy endings for all.
