SYNOPSIS:

Spring, 2010, Bill Simpson (73) hangs up his pool stick, leaving the urban scene to a Southern retirement home, "Dawn's Glory." A renovated plantation house from the mid-1800s,' it was once plagued by a haint, who as a human in 1890 was killed by a lynch mob on her wedding day. She vowed that, on that day, she would come back from the dead. She does… When Dawn's Glory was a plantation, Bill’s grandma, a Voodoo priestess and sharecropper, fought off the phantom. Her spirit offers incantations and riddles (that he constantly struggles to decipher) to find and dispel the haint because it cannot be killed. Bill recognizes the presence of a haint when numerous residents begin to die in their sleep. As he closes in on “who” the embodied haint may be, the deaths increase. On a stormy, spring, night, staff and residents are trapped in a nightmare empowering the haint to permeate the veil between life’s chaos and the still of death releasing the dead. Bill warns all not to go to sleep for, “to see the haint’s face in your dream is to die.” Not only must he protect the infected victims, Bill, now contaminated must fear for his life. The haint reveals the most feared nightmares and scenarios imaginable, then, kills those it has contaminated, in their dreams and conscious state. Her presence raises the dead to terrorize residents, staff and visitors. A creature from old wives tales, it is a transforming phantom whose true characteristics are seen by the naked eye of the clairvoyant. But when their presence is strong, they can "will" themselves to be seen or are revealed to the common person in intense light, fire or through crystal glass and prisms. Veteran, mainstream artist, Bill Cobbs (currently playing the Master Tinker in Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful"), has forwarded a Letter of Intent to play the lead.
