SYNOPSIS:
Eva, a dancer in her early thirties, is fleeing the police with her friends when an escape through the basement of an unfamiliar building leads them somewhere impossible — a vast underground city hidden beneath the surface. Separated from her friends, Eva finds herself inside a society governed by masks, rituals and its own fragile system of order. At its center is Gold, an enigmatic masked woman who keeps the Underground alive — controlling its water, power and passages while protecting its inhabitants from Buffalo, a brutal rival who rules through fear. As Eva searches for her friends and a way back to the surface, her growing attraction to Gold pulls her deeper into this strange world. But the more Eva learns about the Underground, the harder it becomes to tell the difference between sanctuary and captivity — and between Gold’s protection and control. Then the city begins to fail. With tensions erupting and the Underground literally collapsing around them, Eva must find a way out before the world beneath her becomes a tomb — while confronting a far more difficult question: what if some of the people she is desperate to save don’t want to leave?
