In a society where the state controls every reproduction, a young lab
worker, her infertile sister and two men bound within the system uncover
the horrifying truth behind the facility they live in and must flee
before they are erased.
SYNOPSIS:
In a dystopian society, where the world’s population dropped
drastically, reproduction is strictly controlled by the state that has
the fertile people in a program and assigns individuals based on
biological viability.
Mira works inside one such facility. She swaps her blood samples with
her sister's for a year because Quinn desperately wants a child but is
infertile. Now the area's population drops below a million, and she is
matched with Callum.
Callum is the 100 % asset with the best fertility score. When he is
assigned to Quinn, he tries to do the act but can’t. Giving in after
three years of pretending, he admits to her that he is actually gay even
though assets aren’t allowed to be. Quinn, caring as she is, tries to
find a way out for him and turns to her sister once again.
Due to a staff member's death, Mira actually takes control of the
matching program and assigns Gavin to her sister, leaving Callum back in
the dome, a zoo-like area in which the fertile men live.
Mira and the other staff members are making efforts to create a booster
that will enhance the fertility of all individuals, as Gavin and Quinn
not only engage in intense activities but also develop romantic
feelings.
As the new booster gets tested on the staff members, Mira claims that
she already took it – otherwise her blood swapping would have been
discovered. Now, they believe that the booster is effective, as it has
elevated Mira from a low level to a solid 60. To broaden the genetic
pool, Mira must be matched, and the asset must be transferred to other
regions.
The main reasons for the upcoming trading are Callum, who doesn’t
reproduce anymore and is supposed to be shipped to a stricter area, and
Gavin, who begins to think outside the box, only because he wants to be
with Quinn.
As she is done with the logistics, she goes to look for her driver and
discovers a hidden lab, and with it, also the supposedly dead staff
member Rob, on whom they are experimenting.
Mira, realizing that no one is safe and everyone could be next, plans to
get Callum and Gavin out. While her sister has to lead them through the
hallways of the facility, Mira manipulates the cameras so that no one
can see them.
It works until they hear a sickening sound and step into the hidden lab.
This is where Callum faces a nightmare. His former secret boyfriend was
supposedly hit on the head and dead but is also a victim of the
experiments.
Callum, who up to that point was eager to leave, stays for the love of his life, while Gavin and Quinn escape.
In her desperation of getting them all out - and saving herself as well -
Mira turns to the rebels and can only hope that they will come. With
her call for help, Hailey, her closest colleague, finds out about
everything. She cannot believe it and wants to report Mira until she
sees the hidden lab, Asher, and Rob herself.
From that moment on it is a chase. They get Asher and Rob out of the
hidden lab and fight their way to Callum in another wing of the
facility. Fighting their way out, they lose some of their allies, but
the rebels come for their rescue.
They are close to the saving cars as the leader of the facility shoots
and hits Callum. All his hope of a real life with Asher – gone.
Forcing Asher and Gavin into the car of the rebels, the sisters and some
others escape the facility and find shelter with the rebels, building a
free society with every refugee they can help.
