A young mechanic one fight away from going pro throws it all away for a paycheck, and has to earn his way back through a prison cage, a corrupt promoter, and his own pride, to reach the family he broke.
SYNOPSIS:
Johnny Sanchez scrapes by in his father's auto shop and trains nights at a local MMA gym under Sensei Gene, chasing a shot at going pro. That shot disappears when he gets the Sensei's daughter pregnant. A year on, broke and cornered, Johnny takes collection work for a steroid pusher, turns violent on a client, and draws five years for assault and battery.
Inside, a warden recruits him to fight the guards in gladiator wars, and Johnny sends what little he wins home to the son he has never raised. The warden eventually sponsors him into a professional tournament run by General Insou Krang, an ex-Vietcong officer turned corrupt biotech mogul. Released into the wreckage of his family, Johnny finds that raw talent is not enough. He has to submit to a handful of eccentric mentors and learn to fight with weapons forged in his heart.
A full-contact action drama about fathers and sons, redemption, and what a man will fight for. Starring Ernie Reyes Jr., Ving Rhames, John Savage, and George Takei, with fight choreography by Grand Master Ernie Reyes Sr.
