A guarded young musician, used to surviving unseen, is estranged from their family, and pulled into a struggling band where being truly known could save them, or unravel everything holding them together. 

SYNOPSIS:

A non-binary university student and musician survives severe mental illness and a suffocating home life through a hidden mastery of the guitar. After an intense musical encounter in a campus basement studio, a fierce indie drummer tries to recruit them, but the guarded student pulls away. The stakes skyrocket when the student’s mother uncovers their identity and brutally disowns them, sending the protagonist into a feverish, physical crisis on a highway overpass. They fall into the band, and destabilise them. The college musicians flail, disagree, and step entirely out of their depth, but they refuse to look away. The new chosen family navigates a messy, imperfect recovery. Through an atmospheric, dialogue-free musical montage, the band members compensate for each other's flaws, repair a water-damaged guitar, and learn to clumsy-care for one another, trading an empty biological home for a gritty, hard-won sense of hope and connection.
