A romantic comedy of errors with elements of Rear Window meets Weekend at Bernie's. Grizzled shock journalist JESSE YOUNG dies while on assignment posing as a homeless man in a dumpster, of a heart attack brought on by way too many "go pills" and an argument with burned out romance novelist TAYLOR MONROE, who unwittingly transports his body home in the back seat of her convertible. She and her brother STEWART BRANDO’s handsome soap opera star housemate NATE CALDWELL return the body to the alley she found him in, only for the body to be kidnapped by the journalist's long-suffering producer ROY HILL and chauffeur MURRAY SEGAL for blackmail purposes. When Roy and Murray accidentally kill Jesse a second time, they dispose of his body in the alligator pit at the zoo, leading the now hungover Taylor and Nate to think they did a lot more the night before than fall in love. All this happens under the watchful eye of WENDY KELLER, diner waitress and Taylor's number one fan, who has local detectives BARNES and HARRIS on speed dial.
